Houghton Bay beach is a small beach on Wellington’s South Coast. It’s suitable for surfing but not swimming because of the undertow.

Trelissick Park is a fantastic off-leash area in Ngaio, Wellington. This valley walk goes alongside Kaiwharawhara stream for around 2.5 Km. The railway runs on the other side of the stream and higher up the hill, and there are historic ruins to see along the way.
