Work is progressing on the old Fever Hospital, future home of the SPCA

As we mentioned back in July in Wellington SPCA to move to the slopes of Mt Vic work is underway for the SPCA’s move. It’s great to hear that things are progressing, and that the SPCA hope to move in around 14 months time.

The following is taken from the 31 October 2012 Wellington SPCA E-news that arrived by email.

Whilst things may have seemed quiet since we got the go ahead in June, it has been an exciting few months for our REHOME project team. They have completed the technical requirements and are working alongside our architecture specialists to design the perfect new home for the organisation.

Our partners Wellington City Council have also been busy. They plan to start their building works in November, hoping to complete around Easter 2013. Wellington SPCA will then take on the building to refit the interior and add the items we need, ready for us to move in around Christmas 2013. As you will know, Christmas is one of our busiest times so we have started work early on our transition plans to make sure our animals, staff and volunteers are able to relocate safely.

As the project progresses we will keep you updated on how things are going, what the plans are and ways you can help. You can find out more from our website http://www.rehomespca.org.nz.
