Description
The tiny off-leash area beside the Zephyrometer runs beside busy Cobham Drive in Evans Bay, Wellington, New Zealand.
This tiny strip of grass runs from the base of the Zephyrometer for maybe 100 metres.
Although this is an off-leash area it would be unwise to let a dog off the leash if there is even the slightest chance it might dash out onto the road.
It’s not at all clear if this is the area referred to by the Wellington City Council as ‘Evans Bay Beach’ on the: Exercise Areas – Maps page of their website. No actual map is provided.
Terrain
- Flat off-leash area between the marina and harbour and busy Cobham Drive, the main route to the airport. At a guess it’s about 100 metres long and between 8 and 20 metres wide.
- Grassy
- Water: beside the harbour.
Delights
- The marina.
Dangers
- Right beside a very busy main road, with only low barriers that most dogs could easily get through or jump over.
Cautions
- None.
Road access
Plenty of parking is available in the marina carpark, by the Zephyrometer.
